Winter Festival in Brisbane

Enjoy the delights of an authentic European winter in the heart of the city, as the Brisbane Winter Festival promises to turn the heart of the city into a winter wonderland from June 9 through 26. That is as close as you are going to get to winter in Brisbane with day temperatures above 20 degrees.
Located at the iconic King George Square, the 2011 Brisbane Winter Festival offers a myriad of winter indulgences from the exhilarating to the mouth-watering, including an array of gourmet winter food, some dazzling action on the ice including thrilling ice shows and performances, cosy indoor woodfires and our very own Lipton Chai Latte Lodge.
Brisbane thrill seekers can enjoy a skate on Brisbane's largest outdoor ice skating rink, measuring an impressive 900m². Ice skating can be booked online, and costs from $20 for adults and $15 for kids. This includes a 45 minute skating sesson, and it's an additional $7 for skate hire.
In previous years, ice skating for most sessions sold out prior to the event, so it is highly recommended booking your tickets online beforehand.
