Queen visit to Brisbane - Best spots for watchers

The best spots for royal watchers to catch a glimpse of Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh when they visit Brisbane this month have been revealed
The Queen and Prince Philip will visit the city on October 24, cruising on the Brisbane River from Bretts Wharf to South Bank and strolling through the cultural forecourt at South Bank.
The royal couple will attend a private state government reception to acknowledge those affected by summer's natural disasters and attend a private luncheon hosted by the Governor of Queensland.
Premier Anna Bligh today encouraged Queenslanders keen to be part of the visit to make their way to designated public viewing areas along the Brisbane River and South Bank.
The best vantage points on the river would be between Bretts Wharf and Breakfast Creek, at Bulimba Riverside Park, Eagle Street Pier and South Bank. Spectators should be in place well before the Queen's cruise begins at 11.30am.
